New Areas

Magmeld

Magmeld is a region on the eastern side of the continent of Aden. Because it exists in another dimension, Magmeld has only recently been discovered by explorers. Magmeld was created by Einhasad as a utopia for the beautiful and pure creatures that she wanted to keep separated from tainted humanity. Shilen’s awakening has allowed evil to seep into all corners of the world—even pure and beautiful Magmeld—and the narrow gap between the dimensions is widening. When the Elven leader Asterios came to Anghel Waterfall, pursuing a prophecy that might lead to the salvation of the dying Mother Tree, he discovered a portal into Magmeld. Now, Magmeld is full of eager explorers.
The large region of Magmeld includes a peace-zone town called the Ancient City of Arcan, as well as numerous outdoor hunting areas and several dungeons. This zone is suited to high-level characters. The first time characters go to Magmeld, they must enter through the portal behind the Anghel Waterfall. After that, they can come and go through the use of the Gatekeeper in the Ancient City of Arcan.

Ancient City of Arcan

The only inhabited settlement in Magmeld, the Ancient City of Arcan is a village of the Cat Clan. After Asterios arrived in search of a cure for the Mother Tree, Dwarves soon followed and set up trade with the new town and area. Now, the town has the same amenities as other towns on the continent.
The Ancient City of Arcan is elevated above a lake fed by magnificent waterfalls. Beneath the lake is the Prison of Darkness dungeon. A beam of light shines from the bottom of the lake up through the center of town. When the town is at peace, the beam of light is blue. When the evil influence from the Prison of Darkness increases, the beam turns red, earthquakes are more frequent, and evil-looking NPCs appear in the center of town. When performing a quest, a character can choose to turn over the quest item to the peaceful NPC or to the evil NPC, and the state of the town will change according to this decision.

Fairy Settlement

Outdoor Party Hunting
The race of fairies has long existed in the continent of Aden. When Einhasad created Magmeld, she invited the fairies to live there. However, the king of the fairies, Obelius, caused discord between the fairies and the gods, and the invitation to Magmeld was withdrawn. Kimerian was the only fairy leader to speak out against Obelius, and so he and his followers were the only fairies allowed into Magmeld.
Kimerian and his followers live in the Fairy Settlement in Magmeld, among trees and cocoons in the beautiful and magical outdoor area. But Shilen’s evil has now reached the Fairy Settlement, driving the fairies to madness, rage, and corruption. Kimerian, the most corrupted, is now a raid boss deep in the settlement, inside a solo-instanced dungeon.

Garden of Genesis

Outdoor Party Hunting
Of all the wonderful creatures in Magmeld, Einhasad chose her favorites to display as the most beautiful and worthy. The Garden of Genesis was created to house these creatures, some of which are now extinct in other dimensions. However, like the rest of Magmeld, Shilen’s evil has caused the creatures to become senseless and violent.
The Garden of Genesis can be reached on foot, through a Gatekeeper in the Ancient City of Arcan, or by using Sayune outside of the town. The area is a series of four elevated tiers, each contained a garden. The four areas are divided by altitude and are connected by bridges. Within the gardens, stone walls create further division, and are filled with plants and plant-like creatures. The highest garden tier is home to the raid boss Apherus. The ground area below and surrounding the elevated gardens is an open field.
Various creatures in the gardens and in the field have special behaviors:
  • Some creatures that wish destruction of the garden will follow Outdoor Gardener monsters for protection if they are attacked.
  • Each of the three lowest gardens has a raid boss that can be summoned through the central landmark in that area.
  • Certain vines and plants in the gardens have different behavior during the day than they do at night. Some help adventurers, some hinder them.
  • In each of the three lowest gardens, a Garden Watcher moves along the perimeter and randomly sets up two types of harmful traps.
  • One monster may spawn another monster if certain of its skills go unchecked.

Prison of Darkness

Solo or Party Hunting Instanced Dungeon
In the pure land of Magmeld, Gran Kain’s trickery allowed some lesser beings to exist. Einhasad decreed that these flawed beings be separated from her favorite ones, and ordered them to be sent to a penal colony. One of the prisoners, Spezion, rebelled against this order. When his rebellion failed, he was sentenced to the Prison of Darkness, where he is pinned by bars of light at the center of the prison. The Prison of Darkness has become a dark place that manifests Spezion’s pain and anger in the twisted creatures that populate the dungeon.
After completing an entry quest, characters can enter the Prison of Darkness through the Gatekeeper in the Ancient City of Arcan. Inside, solo or party characters can hunt the monsters in the area. If characters find a specific item on the monsters, the monsters in the dungeon are transformed into more challenging monsters with a higher chance of dropping the item necessary to entering the Spezion raid.

Orbis Temple

Party Hunting Instanced Dungeon
Einhasad’s daughter, the Angel Paulina, built this temple. When the temple was complete, Paulina returned to the Realm of Light. Soon after Paulina’s departure, Orbis Temple fell prey to Shilen’s increasing evil influence, wielded by rebels banished from Magmeld. The slumbering heroes within the temple began to awaken, one by one, corrupted by Shilen’s evil into raging madness.
Orbis Temple can be entered on foot or by talking to a Gatekeeper in the Ancient City of Arcan. Some of the zone’s handicaps, such as the Orbis Curse, can be used to your benefit. Orbis Temple is composed of three floors with many rooms and grand corridors, including the instanced Octavis raid, which takes place in a gigantic, gladiator-style arena. Orbis Temple is a Quest Zone that is initiated when characters enter the temple in a party.

Fortuna

Fortuna was the base of Spezion’s rebellion against Einhasad. After he was defeated and sentenced to the Prison of Darkness, Fortuna became haunted by the restless spirits of Spezion’s followers. Presently, Fortuna is a stronghold of the fallen hero Ron and his followers, who were banished from Orbis Temple.
A group of seven characters of level 90 or above is required for entry into Fortuna. Entry can be acquired by speaking with Izael in the Ancient City of Arcan. Fighting in Fortuna is done in nine stages, each with its own boss monster. The instanced dungeon resets at 6:30 a.m. (server time) every morning.

Altar of Evil

Shilen’s blood rained down on the world and sickened the continent. The followers of Shilen, who gathered in the Dark Elf Village to worship her, built the Altar of Evil at a site where the blood tore the fabric of the dimensions and created a rift. There, they waited for the coming of the Disciples of Darkness.
The Altar of Evil is west of the Dark Elf Village. At night, all monsters at the Altar of Evil are more powerful than during the day. The raid boss Stygian Queen sometimes appears here at night.

Shilen’s Altar

Party Hunting Instanced Dungeon
The Goddess of Destruction awakened when the seven seals imprisoning her were removed by the Embryo cult, an organization dedicated to the resurrection of Shilen. To complete an avatar that can hold Shilen’s soul, the cult built a gigantic altar that absorbs energy from offerings sent from the Catacombs and Necropolis.
The dungeon can only be entered when a character has a specific campaign quest active. A group of seven characters can enter Shilen’s Altar at once. The dungeon comprises three levels of rooms and ramps leading down. This path must be travelled three times, each time harder than the last, before characters finally emerge into the large room that contains the altar itself. There, the raid boss twins Maliss and Isadora can be found.

Balthus Knights: Antharas Expedition

Recommended Level Zone Type
90–99
Instanced Dungeon Raid
When the lunar influence shifted after the arrival of the Dark Moon, the kingdom of Aden detected suspicious movements by the dragon Antharas and dispatched an expeditionary force to investigate. With the help of Antharas Watcher Theodric, it has become possible to dispatch many men quickly to Antharas’s Lair.
On the 1st and the 15th of every month, this instanced dungeon may be entered by characters in a raid force of 14 to 35 characters by talking to Theodric at the entrance of Antharas’s Lair.

Talking Island

As Shilen awoke, she used her powers to pull the floating island Ye Sagira from the sky and hurl it down toward the continent of Aden. Ye Sagira landed on Talking Island, shattering into countless pieces and devastating the island. Now, the geography of Talking Island is much changed. It remains a low-level newbie area, and it is the site of the revamped newbie quest series. Talking Island Village has been rebuilt as a magnificent town with every kind of shop and store.

Talking Island Village

The original Talking Island Village was destroyed when Ye Sagira smashed into the island. As the other races’ villages were also destroyed or abandoned, all of the races came together to rebuild Talking Island Village. The ruins of the original village can be glimpsed in a steep valley just outside the new village. The new Talking Island Village is the starting place for new characters of all races. A revamped newbie quest series begins here and guides new characters through basic tutorials around the island.
Some places of note in Talking Island Village:
  • The Administration Office: Race-specific NPCs can be found here. They provide characters with class transfers, newbie items and quests, and some general game tips and guides.
  • The Museum: Although the Museum feature can be viewed through an interface panel in the main menu, the Museum building in Talking Island Village is its headquarters. Statues of characters can be found both inside the Museum building and just outside the main entrance to the village.
  • Kookaru Handler: A girl standing near the entrance to Talking Island Village offers a free ride on a mechanical bird so that characters can explore and travel across the island quickly.
  • Town Square: The center of Talking Island Village is populated with shops and NPCs of all kinds.
  • Gatekeepers: There are two Gatekeepers in Talking Island Village. One is in the Town Square; he teleports characters to Ye Sagira once they have unlocked that area by traveling there on foot. The other Gatekeeper is east of the Museum; she can teleport characters to the main Aden continent.

Ye Sagira

Solo Hunting
Ye Sagira once held the Royal Palace of Ye Sagira, home to King Harnak of the Giants. It was a shining symbol of the Giants’ advanced technology, as evidenced by the glowing glyphs and mysteriously shaped stone constructions. After the war between the Giants and the gods, the city was abandoned, but it is rumored that many relics and technology of the Giants’ era remained inside. Now that Ye Sagira has been shattered across Talking Island, explorers from far and wide have come to study the ruins. It was the study of these ruins that brought a population to the island and allowed the reconstruction of Talking Island Village.
The ruins of Ye Sagira are split into five exploration zones. Characters can move between these zones in numbered order by using red teleport devices to move forward and blue teleport devices to move backward. The whole area is involved in the newbie quest series.

Labyrinth of Belis

Zone Type

Solo Instanced Dungeon
Harnak, the last king of the Giants, had a beautiful queen named Belis. Harnak was jealous, and he constructed a labyrinth to protect his wife from any person who might gaze upon her with desire. Despite this, Gran Kain managed to find Belis and seduce her. In a rage, Harnak murdered Belis and secluded himself in an underground sanctuary. Now, the Labyrinth of Belis is overrun by deadly agents of the Embryo cult, who seek to empower Shilen and bring destruction.
The Labyrinth of Belis is the site for the portion of the newbie quest series that brings a character to the first class transfer. When on this quest, a character may enter the labyrinth by speaking to Sebion in the Ye Sagira ruins. Inside, the character is guided through the different rooms by a helpful NPC. Although the path through the dungeon is very clear, each room has a different challenge that the character must overcome in order to continue. When the dungeon boss is killed, the quest is complete.

Harnak Underground Ruins

Recommended Level
Zone Type
85–90
Party Hunting Dungeon
After losing his queen, King Harnak wasted away in his underground sanctuary in the lower levels of the Ye Sagira Royal Palace. Although Harnak is long since dead, his presence haunts the dungeon.
Harnak Underground Ruins can be entered by speaking to Hadel in Exploration Zone 1 of Ye Sagira. The dungeon comprises three floors with eight chambers each. A teleport device in the center of the dungeon allows characters to move between the three floors. The second and third floors contain seals, which can be broken in order to summon more creatures, culminating in the appearances of raid bosses Harnak’s Wraith and Harnak’s Evil Spirit.
Seals are broken by using certain items that drop from monsters in the dungeon. When a seal breaks, the character receives additional buffs while Noctum and Demonic Noctum monsters appear in the chamber. When all the seals on a floor are broken and all the Noctum and Demonic Noctum monsters are killed, the raid boss Harnak’s Wraith or Harnak’s Evil Spirit will appear, depending on which floor’s seals were broken.
This dungeon is also a Quest Zone.
